Hi All,
In response to so many kind words to support, I just wanted to give everyone a quick update on my accident. As you know I was hit from behind on Canterbury Rd, Middle Park early Saturday morning on my way to meet the GD Group at Port Melb for coffee.
I was extremely lucky that I have no broken bones, but I do have a fractured eye socket, with the face taking the brunt of the impact. My sunglasses probably saved my eye and left a nice indent. As for the bike, the handlebars appear to have taken the main impact and it appears the crossbar is cracked (probably a write off). I have spent the last 3 days in the Alfred Hospital and will require follow up facial appointments.
I was extremely lucky under the circumstances as it could have been a lot worse. I’ve been advised that the car involved has been charged (as I was riding in the bike lane).Thank you for all your kind words and messages. Look forward to seeing you on the road again soon.
