ModeratorBrad, sorry, apologies from Jude and me also.
The rostering gods have not been kind, which in some respects is good, as I don’t have to fall back on the real reason of inconsistent riding and lack of hills training.
Depending on how the roster develops we may make it to Bright, but won’t make it to Anglers Rest.
Thanks for taking over the reins, and I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable ride.
Cheers

KeymasterBrad, regrettably I must also withdraw from the ride. I hope this opens up a spot for someone. Mary and I will be in Bright for the weekend so we look forward to catching up with everyone. Cheers.

ModeratorHi Brad
Training is ongoing but not to Alpine weekend standards. Regrettably, I’ll give 2023 a miss.
Please give my spot to someone else.

ParticipantHello Brad
Unfortunately I will need to visit Branko in hospital so I too will need to withdraw my entry from the Alpine weekend. I hope you all have a fabulous time.2023-01-05 at 11:06 pm #73614Brad Phillips
ModeratorHi everyone,
5 weeks to go, so not too late to start ramping up the hill training, especially if you are off to Adelaide.
It’s about this time of the year that people reassess their fitness and calendar, and we get a few cancellations.
Also, people sometimes forget they signed up almost 10 months ago.
I haven’t managed to catch up with everyone, so perhaps you could start the conversation on rides with those on the list to raise awareness around participation and fitness. The Bright Brewery is booked for dinner on the Friday night at 5:45pm and drinks Sunday afternoon at 3:15pm.
At the moment, given the Falls Creek road closure, it looks like we will head to Anglers Rest on the Saturday and then return
via the same route on the Sunday. Things may change though. The starters list as of today is as follows:

ParticipantThanks for the prompt Brad.
First update from me is that Sharon won’t make it to Anglers Rest, so I’ll be one only for accommodation.
Caveat is I’m just recovering from COVID (caught me at last), so I need to have a good run with recovery and ramping up the missed kms over the next few weeks, including Adelaide.
Let me know if you have a deadline for confirmation/cancellation for Blue Duck.
Will keep you posted. (I’ll be in Bright in any event.)
Tks for coordinating. Philip2023-01-06 at 8:34 pm #73619Brad Phillips
ModeratorThanks for the update Phil. I will be chasing payments from 30 January and entries close on Sunday 05 February.Detailed instructions will come out on 30 January and cabin allocations on Wednesday 08 Feb.
To everyone else –
We are now down to one driver (Helen) which means we don’t have
enough drivers for the weekend.Perhaps Robyn or Elaine you may want to join in the weekend’s festivities as part of the support crew? If anyone else has a better half that want’s to join then please reach out.
Thanks all, Brad

ModeratorHi All – if anyones still needs accommodation on the Friday and/or Sunday night I have room for one couple and a single at our place near Wandiligong. Preference given to support crew for the weekend!
Brad – I’m happy to offer my Prado as a support vehicle for the weekend. It comes with a fridge and if we don’t get a second driver we can share the driving amongst all riders. It’ll work out to about 15 km each!
Cheers……..Perry

ParticipantHi Brad
Unfortunately I “abandoned” the Alpine weekend as I have a girlfriend’s 60th birthday weekend in Blairgowrie and have committed my time to this.
I hope you understand.2023-01-07 at 5:45 pm #73643Neal Cam
ModeratorBrad, Lindee has kindly agreed to help with to take gear to Blue Duck in on Saturday and stay overnight and return gear to Bright on Sunday.
