ModeratorWayne – I had such a great time last time, I’m keen to come along in 2019. I had no idea it’d fiĺl up so fast, or I would have posted in March! Thanks for all your efforts. Nathan

ModeratorHi Nathan,
I’m away on holidays at the moment, and I will look more into it when I get home in a couple of weeks, but I think you are the last single male we can fit in.
There is still room for one single female, and up to 4 partners at The Blue Duck Inn, which is the limiting factor.
No limit for other options like camping, Omeo accomodation etc.
Cheers

ModeratorHi Tony, good to have you along.
We are now full as far as single riders go, subject to any withdrawals.
Partners are always very welcome, and we have room for 3.

ModeratorHi Wayne,
This is sounding like a must do great weekend ride. Thankyou for organising. If you still have room for couple Barbara and i would love to join you for a great weekend.2018-11-12 at 3:30 am #48014Wayne Russell
ModeratorHi Frank, it is a great weekend and I think the highlight of the ARC calendar, but I could be biased!
The bad news is that due to the cabin/beds layout at The Blue Duck Inn, all I can do is put you and Barbara on a waiting list. The proverbial, “no room at the inn”
The good news is that all it would take is for one male cyclist to pull out (and it does happen), and there would be room for both you and Barbara as you could occupy one of the double beds.
I’ll be home in a couple of weeks and I can talk to you about camping/Omeo options then.
Cheers
Wayne

ModeratorHi Everyone,
A little housekeeping.
A reminder to organise accomodation in or around Bright for the Friday night, the ride will start from Bright Velo.
Also a reminder of the challenge over the two days. It doesn’t matter how long it takes you each day, you can take all day, but you must be confident you can complete 250km & 4500vm without assistance over the two days.
Here is some info and comments on the major climbs https://www.bicyclenetwork.com.au/rides-and-events/peaks-challenge/routes-and-prices/#climbs
We do Mt Hotham and an additional 1200vm the first day, Falls Creek & Tawonga Gap the second.
If you think closer to the Alpine Weekend that your prep is not as you had wished, it is also an enjoyable social weekend in a support role.
I’m around a bit more now, so if any newbies need any additional info, please give me a call.
Time to hit the hills.
Cheers
Wayne

ModeratorWayne, with my impending move to NZ I won’t be able to participate in this ride next Feb. So afraid I will have to withdraw. Apologies for that, it’s a great weekend and i’m sorry to miss it.
