Moderator7th-10th Feb 2020 ARC Alpine Challenge
Planning is underway for The 2020 ARC Alpine Challenge.
It is the 3 Peaks Challenge route, 4 weeks prior to the 3 Peaks Challenge, a total of 250km and 4500vm covered over 2 days.
The weekend is great for anyone planning their strategy for the 3 Peaks, picking up 7 Peaks passport stamps, or just for the challenge of being in that spectacular part of the country on a bicycle with a group of mates.
It is not a race, and everyone rides at their own pace, departing in groups to suit ability, and taking as long as required.
No sag wagon support is provided, so fitness levels must be suitable and bikes mechanically prepared.
A SMALL bag can be transferred between Bright and Anglers Rest.
Positioning, and independent accommodation is required in, or around, Bright Friday 7th Feb 2020
Friday 7th Feb pm (optional, and temperature dependent) – Ride from Porepunkah to Mt Buffalo and onto Bright 63km & 1300vm.
Saturday 8th Feb ride from Bright to Anglers Rest via Mt Hotham 139km & 2500vm.
Sunday 9th Feb ride Anglers Rest to Bright via Falls Creek 111km & 2000vm.
Monday 10th Feb am (optional) ride Bright to Mt Buffalo return.
Accommodation Saturday night is at The Blue Duck Inn, Anglers Rest.
I’ve paid the deposit to secure all 6 cabins. Room for 24-27, dependent on the mix of couples, males, and females.

Feel free to post your interest, but if you do so please put it in your diary at the same time, and consider booking accommodation in Bright Friday night.
Non-cycling partners very welcome.
At this stage the weekend will be planned exactly as last years’, so please refer to the 2019 post, give me a call, or chat to those you’re riding with, for additional detail.
Let me know of anything you feel didn’t work this year.
I’ll get serious with numbers and detail early November.
Cheers Wayne. 0403 877 0602019-03-07 at 5:05 pm #51231Wayne Russell

KeymasterWayne, please count me in as providing a support vehicle …. I want to witness Farmer John breaking his record time plus, im sure Barb wants to be on the bike in 2020 🙂 Btw, is Matt taking 3 spots or does he suffer from FOMO?

ModeratorThanks everyone.
Justin, thanks for the support.
Matt, if that is an attempt to book 3 spots and get a room for yourself, it won’t work!
