I hit the ground running and skipped town the day after The Alpine Weekend and can finally draw breath.
Thank you everyone for a fantastic Alpine Weekend of cycling and good company.
As Juan Antonio would say “Best ARC Alpine Cycling Weekend Ever!”
A special thank you to Barbara, Julie-Anne, Helen, and Jude for your support and patience with the logistics of moving 25 cyclists around the countryside. A bit of feedback suggests next year the bags being moved from Bright to Anglers Rest and return could be smaller, and only contain the items you need for Saturday afternoon/evening and Sunday cycling, the rest can be left in Bright. The bulk of 29 bags is considerable.
Saturday drinks and nibbles continues to impress, a big thank you to Jude, with Elaine and Robyn assisting, for a great social gathering, leading into a dinner with a buzz at The Blue Duck.
The weather continues to surprise, and after weeks of record setting temperatures, and then being faced with overnight temps of 4*C at Anglers Rest and 1*C at Falls Creek Sunday morning, it reinforces the temperamental nature of all Alpine areas and the need to be prepared for all conditions. It certainly made for spectacular cycling.
Special award to Marg and Gordo for a huge effort in taming the Alps for the first time, a significant and rewarding achievement, well done.
I hope everyone had a great time, I’ve booked for next year and will release details soon.
Cheers
Wayne.
