Why you should always be on your guard.
This footage was captured by Andrew Scott on the Friday friendly. Great example of why we must always be vigilant, talk to each other and make sure we are all aware of what is happening around us.
Everybody please be aware that our Red Honda Jazz driver 1IX 3PK has caused two more incidents with our group this week Mon 13th and Tus 14th August 2018. This is now 4 reported incidents that I know of. I will be taking this matter to the police today and hopefully we can stop her reckless driving.
Red Honda Jazz 1IX3PK female driver in her 40s
Update 11:30 14th August 2018
Met with a very nice policeman at Malvern police station. He has taken all the details. He thought the video footage was very good and very clear and was interested in where the camera came from because he thinks he needs to get one for his bike!
I don’t think police can do very much, however we now have it on record. So next time when she eventually hits or kills one of us, the police will already be aware all of her actions.
Thanks for reporting that Shaun and well done Andrew on the video

well done Shaun for taking a stance for all of us!
TB – Andrew noted the rego as 1IX3PK….. and the video supports this. ( how did you get this info??)
As this car commutes along our BRL we are most likely to encounter again so maybe some ‘measured’ reactions… easy to say now .. not so when being driven off the road! suggestions?
Maybe we need to humanize the situation .. i bet she knows a cyclist or 2? has she considered what jail would be like if she caused harm? maybe she should come on a FF ?
I will shout her a coffee if she wants to have a chat about her anger towards cyclist.
I suspect a lot of drivers are not malicious, they just dont know how to work with cyclists. So educate before castigate…in addition, as cyclists, we need consistent, predictable behaviour so that car drivers can work with us…
Great write up and footage. Goes to show the usefulness of these bike cameras.
Another very important couple of points to keep in mind:
– if we are going to make complaints about driving behaviour then we, as a group, need to demonstrate good cycling behaviour and etiquette when we ride; obey the road rules, ride in an organised group – not straggling across the road, signal, change lanes in an organised manner etc
– we have a very distinctive (and good looking!) kit. This helps us be seen. It also means as a group poor riding behaviour of the group or an individual rider stands out and can have complaints or even charges brought. We are also carrying the Amy Gillet and metre matters logos – interesting fact but they can withdraw the right for us to wear the kit with the logo if the group demonstrates behaviours not consistent with the AGF principles.
– incidents like these are dangerous and make us angry as a result of careless, negligent or malicious driving. Let’s try and avoid inflammatory language on social media (like our website – you never know when or how it might be used. BTW Shaun’s write up was good.) Likewise on the road – more difficult but let’s try and avoid inflaming incidents if possible.
Thanks Shaun for posting! Safe riding, let’s look after each other out on the road.
Thank you Travis for those details. Have spoken to the police again today with the correct registration. They have informed me that they contact the person and give them a warning. This means if there is any other future incidents they have much stronger grounds to go back and do something to the woman in question.
