As the author of Riding Etiquette 101, I thought it appropriate that I should share some of my learnings.
I will from time to time update this blog (“no seriously what is a blog” name did not make it past the sensor so… I changed its name.
Sometimes, I will invite comment from an engage and concerned rider to give you different perspectives.
The first item that arose regarding riding etiquette recently is at best disturbing:
How should on drink from a bidon in order to avoid showering the following rider(s) with fluid (being it from the bidon or ..shudder.. the mouth?
My strong recommendation is that you should never shower following riders with fluid, even as a joke! Â Doing it accidentally is offensive doing it deliberately is an etiquette “fox pass”.
Thus ensure one only opens the bidon cap just before drinking and that one should swallow before breathing out. Further one must close the bidon cap immediately.
However, if one is drafting Shaun, that is not from his bidon, so sorry. Â Do not draft Shaun.
It’s great that we now have this platform where hot topics such as this can be explored publicly …. thanks Shaun. And thank-you Ray for your bravery on speaking out on this issue. I’m sure there will be lots of input…. I can’t wait.
