I am feeling fit and getting excited about riding hills again. As a result of that euphoria I am contemplating undertaking the Peaks Challenge (formerly know as 3 Peaks); 235km ride with 4,000+ metres. This route will be covered in the ARC Alpine Weekend albeit over 2 days.
I competed in the first one but only half distance. Since then I have had a hankering to go back and complete the full course. Training for Adelaide (I am not joining that adventure), Alpine Weekend etc will put us in pretty good shape.
Is anybody else interested or was already planning to do the ride?
Looking like accommodation is a big issue for Peaks with Victorian cyclists looking to get out of the city. Starting on top of the mountain makes staying on the mountain an essential component, so will have to look at this another year … (and breathe a sigh of relief)
