ARCers, looking to shift the ordering cycle to pre-Christmas rather than the current new year-ish timing.
Have just started discussions with Tineli on changes to kit items, pricing etc.
At the risk of opening Pandora’s box I am keen to canvass any feedback (good or constructive) or suggestions that I can feed into the process.

Could we ask them to look at an updated design – the predominate white stands out but in my opinion is looking a bit plain and dated amongst the latest kit now being marketed.

Noted. Will canvass the group (please feel free to buy into this discussion thread).
Given we now have a strong contingent in this look we probably don’t want to stray to far so that we can maintain the on road identity while allowing mix match with current.
Will continue to investigate. 🙂

What about updating the yellow to a bit more bright/flouro yellow???2019-10-14 at 10:36 am #55764
do you have a timeline otherwise Pandora’s box may be left open for a very long time and opinions are like skulls, everyone has one ( i think?).
if the brief is to give the ARC kit a modern update while retaining our identity, could Shaun McK (he has plenty of time on his hands.. not like hes out riding!?) and/or Tinelli come up with say 3 options? Then we can all sit back and do nothing except tell you whats wrong with them then put it to a vote?
i personally like the current kit but happy to purchase whatever you arrive at.
Caps- my peaks end up breaking.
Sock- don’t last long and the wrong heel to calf length.
that’s my numb-skull input.
thanks for arranging.

summarising to date from various sources:
– i just bought it and you’re going to change it ?! ==> don’t change or not much change
– classic design; still gets comments ==> don’t change or not much change
– brighter yellow ==> more vis ?
– caps – i agree the Walz caps we had done originally had a better, softer peak. will look into it.
– socks – what length(s) are you after (another pandora’s box as there is a min order of 60…)
This is of course how BREXIT started…2019-10-20 at 11:57 am #55897
I think a refresh is in order also. I think the current blue and white should remain as the primary colours, this will ensure compatibility between the different designs. (I think the yellow is not as important)
I think some other pastelly blues could be introduced with a ‘blending/fading’ between the current blue and white. Also we could consider a change to the shoulder pattern to give a blue and white ‘Police style’check pattern would also be interesting. Might make a few drivers thing twice when they see an ARC rider.
A small design committee of 2 or 3 people should maybe be appointed to choose 2 best designs then put up for a vote.
Whilst I am personally a strong supporter of the Amy Gillet foundation and the ‘A Metre Matters’ message, I dont see any real benefit for it being on our jerseys. The only people who look at our jerseys are other cyclists, who already support it. No-one else pays the slightest attention to our jerseys. I feel it just adds a load of clutter.
Anyhow, there my opinions, but am also pretty happy to go with the general consensus.

I support an update that modernizes whilst retaining the current identity. Good suggestions from all above contributors. I am up for new Jersey, cap and longer socks.

My 20c, it seems more is less in kit design these days – could remove some/much of the ARC branding and leave fewer more subtle ones while keeping with the general colour palette (perhaps some tweaking), providing continuity with the existing kit.2019-11-09 at 4:59 pm #56323
note the Smurphy thinks a skull and fire is good.2019-11-12 at 10:07 pm #56386
Russell, I’ve just caught up on the thread.
In line with some of the comments above to modernise (tone down or simplify) the kit (which I support), I think the knicks could be blue on blue or the option of black on black.
This would also provide the versatility to use the ARC knicks with other kit for non-ARC rides.
